Globalization is the modern theatre of migration that compels anyone in internationalmobility to deal with complex mechanisms during the acculturation process.
Migration is a challenge for the mental health of an individual.
When the context in the country of origin and in the host country is unfavorable, when migration conditions are particularly stressful, and when resilience is reduced, an individual can be destabilized and his/her mental balance affected. Language barriers and the necessary confrontation of cultural representations have a psychological cost that sometimes affects self-esteem and hinders ones’ life force. Adjustments are as could have psycho-pathological consequences.
Migration issues and migrant mental health are in a systemic relationship that causes public health problems on a global scale.
